Playtika Lays Off 600 Employees

December 14, 2022

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Mobile games firm Playtika is going to lay off some 600 of its employees. These 600 employees make up 15% of the company’s headcount.

In a statement explaining the situation, chief executive Robert Antokol said that the lay-offs were due to a wind down in “non-core products”, which likely means players will see some change in its features.

In a letter to Playtika employees, Antokol said: “The news I share with you today is difficult. After intense deliberation, we have decided to reduce our workforce by about 15%, saying goodbye to wonderful and talented colleagues and friends.

“This decision has not come easy, yet we think it necessary to best position Playtika for the future.”

Playtika appears to be regretting its recent acquisition of JustPlay.LOL, changing direction from diversifying its products to limiting them.

“As we assess the current environment and look toward the future, Playtika must return to our roots of excellence through agility, efficiency, creativity and being obsessed with winning to deliver the most fun forms of mobile entertainment to our players,” Antokol said.

“We will begin achieving this by balancing teams and redeploying talent, winding down non-core initiatives and consolidating studios for greater efficiency and a stronger focus on optimisation.”

Soft2Bet Adds New Gamification Elements to Their Project, Malina Casino

December 13, 2022

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Soft2Bet has just renovated its sophisticated project, Malina Casino, adding a newest series of gamification elements, including:

The Achievements Section – 42 achievements have been added and players who unlock these are rewarded with coins. The achievements are specifically created and localised in accordance with the target markets of the project. A long-term gamification reward called the “collection of achievements” was also added, where users can receive a cash prize when unlocking all the achievements.

Coins – The gamification element known as Loyalty Points has been replaced by coins. Users can accumulate coins as part of their balance when playing in the casino, making deposits, completing achievements and winning tournaments.

The Shop – Players can use the coins they accumulate to buy bonus money and Free Spins of differing amounts and spin values in the bonus shop. The shop has a selection of items which serve to attract several different user groups, spanning from low to high rollers. Players will also be able to enjoy Free Bets for sports.

Tournaments – Players that enjoy taking part in the tournaments can now win new rewards including bonus money and coins.

This is a significant improvement for the brand that will help garner wide appeal in the industry, particularly among players that enjoy projects with a unique mix of advanced casino features and stunning aesthetics.

Dallmeier Launches Casino 2.0 Information Campaign: Making Casino Operations Easier

December 8, 2022

Reading Time: 2 minutes

“Making casino operations easier”: According to this motto Dallmeier is launching a comprehensive awareness campaign to show how modern video technology not only ensures greater user-friendliness, but also higher objective security, greater efficiency and, at the same time, cost savings in casinos.

Gaining well over 20 years of experience, Dallmeier has become an expert in video technology for casinos. Now, the Germany-based manufacturer is launching an awareness campaign aimed at all functional areas that benefit from the smart use of video technology: Surveillance Managers, IT Managers, Gaming Managers, Marketing Managers as well as CEOs or purchasing managers.

Dallmeier will provide comprehensive information material for each of these target groups. On the new casino website, well-founded White Papers will gradually be available for download. The documents address the specific needs and pain points of the target groups – and how they can be addressed with the latest trends and developments in video technology.

The first one is the White Paper for Surveillance Managers entitled “Gaming Floor PTZ is old-school. 360° cameras – done right – do a much better job.”, which is already available and questions some of the traditional solution strategies that have remained the same for decades.

Surveillance managers in casino operations must make the impossible possible every day: They are responsible for preventing and resolving a wide variety of events and incidents, from accidents to organised cheating in gaming operations to brawls. On top of that, they must meet ever-increasing regulatory and occupational health and safety requirements. For this, one thing is particularly important: a comprehensive and, above all, high-resolution overall view, which at the same time enables the details of an incident to be traced exactly. But which technique is best suited for this?

How can you achieve an even faster reaction time using fewer cameras? How can user-friendliness be increased, and costs saved at the same time? These are some fundamental aspects that are presented in more detail in the White Paper. In particular, the current technological developments are also explained in more detail: Are gaming floor PTZ cameras still state-of-the-art? Are all 360° cameras the same or what fundamental differences exist? What is the term “unlimited virtual PTZs” all about?

In addition to the White Paper, a video comparing traditional gaming floor PTZ cameras with “real” 360° systems such as the Dallmeier Panomera W8 is also online on the Casino website.
